How an engagement works

A disciplined path from first conversation to systems your team can operate.

    Align on the problem, stack, constraints, and delivery risk. Free, useful, and direct.

  2. Scope and proposal

    Define the work, team shape, timeline, and price in an MSA and SOW before work begins.

  3. Build

    Ship production code, deployed infrastructure, tests, monitoring, and decision records inside your environment.

  4. Operate and hand over

    Transfer runbooks, operating context, and ownership so your team can run the system.

How billing works

Pricing follows scope. Once discovery clarifies the risk, stack, timeline, and team shape, KYFEX shares an engagement price tied to the work.

  • Fractional CTO / CAIO: monthly retainer against a defined scope of leadership, architecture, and mentorship hours.
  • AI product engineering: fixed-scope project or milestone-based delivery for validated product builds (typically 8–16 weeks).
  • Engineering teams: monthly team rate for embedded engineers working in your codebase and rituals.
  • Data platform: project or retainer depending on migration depth, compliance requirements, and operating ownership.

Invoices are issued under an MSA and SOW and billed in USD. Contracting and payment run directly with your team, aligned to procurement and compliance.

We share indicative ranges during the discovery call once we understand scope, timeline, and team shape. Public marketing pages describe models; exact pricing is proposal-driven.
Contracting, invoicing, and payment run directly with your team under an MSA and SOW, by wire or ACH. That keeps each engagement aligned to your procurement, security, and compliance requirements.
Fractional leadership often starts at part-time retainer scale. Product builds and embedded teams typically run multiple months. We will be direct if the scope is too small for KYFEX to add value.
